Shades

Created for a Graphic Design class at Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD), Shades explores seven principles of design using a single object: sunglasses. I created individual compositions illustrating negative space, contrast, repetition, hierarchy, alignment, proximity, and balance. For the final composition, I arranged sunglasses into a skull that incorporates four of these principles.

Although my primary interest is moving images, I chose to study graphic design because I believe its visual principles are foundational to editing, motion media, and the broader field of postproduction.
